PARK HINTS & TIPS

ALL PARKS
# Take a picture on mobile or digital camera of where you have parked your car and name of parking lot - after a few days atthe parks you may get confused over the names and then have to ride around on the trolley to spot your lost car.
# Always start your visit at the BACK of the park - it is worth the walk all the way to the back first thing when 60% of the other guests are renting stollers and going on the rides closest to the entrance.
# Arrange an obvious meeting point in the middle of the park in case you get lost or separated or want to just meet up from time to time.
# Avoid riding the WDW buses - use the monorail as it can take you from Magic Kingdom to Epcot and at the back of Epcot you can take a boat to Hollywood Studios.
# Avoid carrying a water bottle - just ask for a cup of water at the food kiosk or carry your own plstic cups and fill at drinking water fountains.
# Hand unused FastPasses you won't get to use to people at the back of the queue - you know it is the right thing to do.
# Visiting with children ? Get them to look for the Hidden Mickeys is a great way to keep them occupied especially when waiting in lines or just resting.
# Buy the Disney Dining Plan if you are staying at Diseny! It is well worth it and includes snacks and water. You can carry them over to another day if oyu don't use them all the day before.

MAGIC KINGDOM

# Pick up a map and check out the times of parades and shows.
# Go on Splash Mountain first thing, board the train at Main Street just as park opens - it takes just 7 minutes on the train, fater than walkimg - the station is between Splash Mountain and Big Thunder.
# Beat the queues by going on the bigger rides during parades - remmeber you need to be on the right side of the park as the route is cordoned off early and you won't be able to cross easily.
# The parking lots are huge - take a picture of where you parked your car, usually named lots with charactures on your phone or digital camera.
# Best place for the parades - Frontierland but you need to get a spot about 45 minutes before it starts - just send one person to save the space, the rest can meet up later if you agree a spot. Daytime parades usually start at Splash Mountain end at Town Square, nighttime performaces in the opposite direction.
# When its time to leave, instead of taking the boat head right at the exit and take the monorail back to the transportation terminal - its free and you can take a seat - also warmer in the winter.

EPCOT
# Test Track is a very popular ride with long queues all day so ride this one first.
# Spaceship ride inthe afternoon as most people ride it first thing when they arrive.
# If you have a Hopper ticket take the boat from the back of Epcot to Holywood Studios - it is quicker than the bus.

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
# Ride Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster first thing to avoid queues

ANIMAL KINGDON
# Always busy at weekends so visit in the week
# Check what time the park closes - early than the others - usually 5PM in winter months
# There is no firework show - for obvious reasons !
# Arrive a half hour before the park opens as easier to see the wild animals as they are at their friskiest so do the safari ride in the morning before the animals take an afternoon snooze.
