Crystal River is the home of the manatee, located along Central Florida’s "Nature Coast,"about 90 minutes north of Tampa.
The manatees move to the warmer waters of the Crystal River when the water temperature drops in the Gulf of Mexico.
Crystal River is one of the few places where you can swim with manatees, where the springs flow at a constant 72 degrees.
A network of more than 30 springs makes up the beautiful waterway of the Crystal River - a system that travels west for about
six miles before ending at the Gulf of Mexico.
